The HandyWave HandyPort HPS 120 is a wireless replacement for an RS232 serial cable.
It can be used without an external computer or special host software and supports both point to point and point to multipoint connections. The local unit can also configure the remote unit over the wireless link.

Inside is a CSR BC417143B BlueCore4 Bluetooth controller with external flash memory. It supports Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR and contains the radio, baseband controller and firmware needed for the wireless serial link.
An SP3222E or SP3232E converts the low voltage logic signals into proper RS232 voltage levels. Its internal charge pump creates the positive and negative RS232 voltages from a single 3.3 V to 5.5 V supply.
